Svenska Spel, Sweden’s leading gaming company, owned by the Swedish government, announced today that is has selected Kaltura (www.kaltura.com), developer of the first open source online video platform, to power video across the Svenska Spel website and its e-gaming web properties.
“Online video brings a myriad of new opportunities for us to engage with our users, and connect with an even larger audience on the web,” said Magnus Helander, Motion Media Producer, at Svenska Spel. “We conducted an extensive search for the right video solution, and ultimately Kaltura demonstrated the highest level of flexibility, deep and specific expertise, and Kaltura is the only provider that has both SaaS and self-hosted deployment options to choose from.”
Svenska Spel has deployed Kaltura’s hosted service and is currently using the Kaltura SaaS solution to power video. Now the companies have moved to phase two of the deployment, where Svenska Spel will migrate to Kaltura’s On-Prem solution, and host the video platform locally behind its own firewall.
“We are delighted to be working with Svenska Spel, a real powerhouse in Sweden,” said Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura Chairman & CEO. “An increasing number of enterprises, media companies, educational institutions and service providers are turning to Kaltura for its unique on-premise software, which provides them with the highest level of control and flexibility.”
