  • Ron Yekutiel Chairman, CEO & Co-founder

    Ron is the cofounder Chairman and CEO of Kaltura, Inc., the most widely used online video platform in the market, powering over 150,000 publishers and service providers globally. As the first and only open-source video platform, Kaltura is disrupting its market in similar ways that Apache, MySQL, and PHP have disrupted theirs.   Ron is a serial technology entrepreneur, starting and leading companies in Israel, US, and Canada in the fields of Internet, mobile applications, and security.  Previous ventures include Destinator Technologies, Paradigm Advanced Technologies, and VisualGate Systems.  A former helicopter pilot, Ron enjoys extreme travel and sports.  He holds an MBA with honors from the Wharton School of Business.

  • Dr. Shay David Chief Revenue Officer, Co-founder

    Dr. Shay David is a scholar and serial entrepreneur who specializes in collaborative and open-source information and communication systems.  Headquartered in NYC, with over 150,000 publishers, universities and enterprises worldwide who have integrated Kaltura’s open source video platform, the company is the world leader in the field. At Kaltura Shay oversees sales, business development, corporate development and strategy. Shay is also, a founding member of the Open Video Alliance, an organization dedicated to open standards for video. Prior to Kaltura, Shay was a co-founder of several software startups and consulted on open systems to Fortune 500 companies like Toyota. Shay holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel-Aviv University, and an M.A. from New York University where his interdisciplinary research thesis focused on the political economy of free and open source software and file sharing networks. Shay wrote his PhD dissertation on “Participatory information networks” at Cornell University and he is also a fellow at The Information Society Project at the Yale Law School (http://isp.law.yale.edu) where he has done his Post-doc work on issues of access to knowledge. Shay has published extensively in leading academic and industry journals, and has presented his work all over the world. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two daughters.

  • Dr. Michal Tsur President & Co-founder

    Michal is an experienced entrepreneur with many years of knowledge of technology startup work. Michal co-founded Cyota and was part of its management team from its inception up until its acquisition by RSA Security, Inc (NASDAQ: RSAS) for $145M (US) in 2005 (RSA was subsequently acquired by EMC Inc (NYSE: EMC)). Michal holds a doctoral degree in application of game theoretic models to law from New York University, and was a post-doctoral fellow at Yale Law School's Information Society Project where her research focused on Open Source, Memetics, and evolutionary game-theory. Michal also clerked at the supreme court of Israel.

  • Eran Etam CTO & Co-founder

    Eran was a co-founder and the VP R&D of ICQ, the world's first Instant Messenger, which was acquired by AOL for $407M in 1998. After holding a VP position in AOL, Eran started several other Internet startups before co-founding Kaltura on September of 2006.

     

  • Dr. Naama Halevi-Davidov Chief Financial Officer

    Naama brings to Kaltura a unique combination of both corporate financial leadership and academic credentials. Over the past 15 years, Naama has led finance organizations in global technology startups ,including Traiana, acquired by ICAP (LSE:IAP) for $247M (US) in 2007, and Kenshoo. As Kaltura’s CFO, Naama oversees Finance, Legal, Human Resources and Corporate Operations. A Certified Public Accountant (ISR), Naama holds a B.Sc. in  Accounting and Economics (Magna Cum Laude) and an MBA in Finance and Marketing (Magna Cum Laude), both from Tel Aviv University. Naama wrote her PhD dissertation at Tel Aviv University, on the Effect of R&D Tax Incentives on R&D. Naama enjoys baking, hiking and travelling with her husband and four children.

  • Leah Belsky Senior Vice President of Operations

    Leah is an experienced entrepreneur, executive, & internet strategist. Prior to Kaltura she worked at the World Bank and in China as the VP of Strategy and Product Dev. at Noank Media, a spin-off of the Berkman Center at Harvard.  Leah completed her JD at Yale Law School and BA at Brown University. She is currently a fellow at the Information Society Project at Yale Law School where she studies online collaboration, technology policy, and is one of the leaders of the Open Video Alliance.

Kaltura has developed the world's first open source video solution stack, and is empowering the next generation of Wikipedia and sites like the UN's with collaborative rich media functionalities. Prior to Kaltura, Shay was a co-founder of Destinator Technologies, a leader in mobile-GPS-navigation software, and MindEcho, a collaborative filtering software company. Shay was involved for many years in cutting edge software research, combining open source and proprietary software.   He led various product development cycles from concept to market and consulted on open systems to Fortune 500 companies like Toyota and Becton Dickson.

    Shay holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Philosophy, Magna Cum Laude, from Tel-Aviv University, and an M.A. from New York University. Shay wrote his PhD dissertation on ‘The social construction of participatory information networks’ at Cornell and he is also a fellow at The Information Society Project at the Yale Law School (http://isp.law.yale.edu). Shay has published extensively in leading academic journals, and has presented his work all over the world. He lives in New York City with his wife Ofri (http://www.ofricnaani.com), an artist who works on large-scale video art projects.

  • Maria Cirino .406 Ventures

    Maria is co-founder and Managing Director of .406 Ventures, with 23 years of entrepreneurial, operating and senior management sales and marketing experience in venture-backed technology companies. Prior to founding .406, she was Senior Vice President of VeriSign, following its 2005 $144 million acquisition of Guardent – a company Maria co-founded and led as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman. Maria has received numerous industry awards and honors including "Massachusetts CEO of the Year 2004" and Ernst & Young "Entrepreneur of the Year 2003." Additionally, Maria was named one of the top 25 women in Information Security by Information Security Magazine and inducted by Women's Business Magazine into the "Women's Business Hall of Fame."

  • Naren Gupta Nexus Ventures

    Naren co-founded Integrated Systems Inc. (ISI), a leading embedded software company, in 1980 where he served as the President/CEO for fifteen years. He took ISI public and subsequently merged it with Wind River Systems. Naren continued to serve on the board of Wind River till its acquisition by Intel. He also serves on the boards of Red Hat and Tibco Software as well as the Boards of Trustees of the California Institute of Technology and the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

    Naren has over 15 years of early and early-growth stage investment experience in US and India, with several exits via IPOs and acquisitions.  He co-founded Nexus Venture Partners in to focus on India related investments. 

    Naren holds a B. Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi; an MS from the California Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. Naren has received numerous awards, including President’s Gold Medal from IIT, distinguished alumni awards from Caltech and IIT and was elected a Fellow of the IEEE. He is an active advisor to entrepreneurs worldwide.

  • Rich Levandov Avalon Ventures

    Rich is a member of the Avalon Ventures team. Rich has over 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur, operating executive, and venture capitalist involving a variety of cutting edge early stage technology companies. Prior to joining Avalon in 2007 to establish the Firm's East Coast investing activities he has been involved in many entrepreneurial and venture capital endeavors.

  • David Hartwig SAP Ventures

    Dave is a Managing Director of SAP Ventures where he is part of a team looking to back disruptive technology companies around the globe.  He has over 15 years of experience working with Entrepreneurs from inception through acquisition or IPO.  He joined SAP Ventures in 2006 after working at Battery Ventures, and started his career at Deloitte as a technology consultant in San Francisco. 

    Dave has an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BSE from Princeton University.
