ABN AMRO: Giving Voice to Employees with Video Creation and Webcasting

About ABN AMRO

The third-largest bank in the Netherlands, ABN AMRO is also active throughout Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States.

How is ABN AMRO using Kaltura?

ABN AMRO uses MediaSpace to embed video in their intranet, as well as Personal Capture for easy video creation. For internal webcasts, they use Kaltura Townhalls. They use video for a wide variety of use cases – recording demos, employee engagement, podcasts, management updates, workshops, livestreams, and more.

“What [is] important for those channels is to give them a holistic experience, because in the end, they are all different touchpoints that need to feel as one brand,” says Aron de Boks, Digital Strategist at ABN AMRO. “So we have 18000 employees, so if you open up and give everyone a voice, then you can have a really strong brand.”

Why Use Kaltura?

For webcasts, using Kaltura Townhalls allows for a much broader audience. “We also do a lot of live events. And these events you also want to want to also send out to people who can’t be physical present, so you open up to other people,” says de Boks.

In general, the ability to easily create videos and then to get insights into how those videos are used is highly valuable. “I like the analytics,” says Arjan Uijl, Product Owner – Social Collaboration, ABN AMRO. “I want to know how the videos are being used, performed. Because I am a product owner and I have to validate it.”

“What I like with Kaltura is that everybody can get access to the platform automatically,” says de Boks. “So you can give functionalities to every employee so the employee can decide for himself or herself what he or she is going to do. So that’s what I really really like.”
