The Next Generation of OTT Video

For the last week and a bit we’ve been incredibly busy with announcement after announcement showing off our latest products and customer launches in the OTT world. With so much going on, we felt a recap was in order. Here are the announcement highlights:
Kaltura MediaX: Our new cloud DVR and content discovery module designed with monetization in mind. On the cloud DVR side of things, we’ve built in revenue generating options allowing users to increase their cloud DVR quota, upgrade from catch-up to cloud DVR, purchase long-term storage, and more. Our content discovery tools increase content consumption by making content more discoverable through predictive analytics.IBC Booth
Major Customer Windows – Vodafone Spain: Vodafone Spain announced that they are launching catch-up and VOD services for the TiVo set top box, powered by Kaltura. Aligning with the trends in customer behavior of wanting to watch content on their own schedule, Vodafone expects these services to boost viewer engagement. Thanks to our OTT TV modular and unified backend, we were able to get the services up and running quickly.
Kaltura OTT Now: The world’s first end-to-end ‘OTT Platform in a Box’. Our goal with OTT Now is to create a simple, cost efficient, out of the box solution for launching an OTT service. With time to market in as little as two months, this solution is designed for content owners, broadcasters, and service providers looking to step into the OTT game quickly, with a single vendor solution.
Kaltura Ad-Stitching: WeatherNation TV launched their use of Kaltura’s advanced ad-stitching technology this week greatly improving their users’ viewing experience. By placing ads supplied via our partner YuMe, dynamically into the users’ OTT stream, based on location, time of day, and a variety of other attributes, users no longer see irrelevant ads. This is a great example of personalized monetization to fit today’s viewers and their viewing habits.
