Successfully using video in your organization is about three things: Great content, great delivery, and having a detailed understanding of how videos are being viewed. Analytics are key part of understanding your audience and improving your content and making sure your viewers get what they need.

So, when you asked for more detailed analytics in Kaltura MediaSpace (KMS), we delivered.

Kaltura MediaSpace Analytics Are Here!

Drop-off Rates

KMS can now give you detailed data by video, channel, or user. And, while in the past we broke down video performance in 25% chunks, you can now get granular, with data available for every 10 seconds of every video. This will allow you to see exactly where audience interest may drop off as well as track video portions that are viewed repeatedly. You’ll also get a more accurate sense of video completion.

For example, if someone on your team watches a video until almost the very end, but logs off as your presenters say goodbye, you’ll see that they watched 99% of the video. You’ll know that they received the information you needed them to get, even though they didn’t technically finish watching.

Video Performance

You can now easily also look at which videos get the most views, which users are watching the most videos, and which video creators are most successfully holding the audience’s attention. Additionally, you’ll be able to track trends.

Average Video Completion Rates

Statistics like average video completion rate by person can help you understand who is getting the most out of online training. Meanwhile, you can evaluate video performance by tracking any single piece of media’s average completion rate against other content.

Impression and Viewer Information

Other trend-tracking features in the new KMS analytics include being able to look at whether viewers are coming from computers or mobile devices, what domains they’re coming from, and the top cities and countries that are watching your videos. You’ll also be able to see how video impressions are leading to engagement with heatmaps.

Because we know there are lots of different ways to understand and communicate about data, our KMS analytics provide more than charts. We’ve placed video players within analytics so you can watch a video and see its performance data as it plays at the same time. And of course, we also provide export capabilities for analytics data so you can work with it in your desktop applications of choice.

KMS analytics data is also available to users at multiple levels, whether they are video creators, channel organizers, or administrators.
